Last year after Unlock the Past’s fabulous DNA Down Under events in Australia, there was talk of a future event in two years’ time.  The venue has been confirmed and the headline speakers announced, and already there’s been a flurry of bookings.  Family History Down Under is taking place on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, on March 22 – 26 in 2021.

If you’ve not been to a large genealogy conference before, this would be an amazing place to start.

Okay, so I found out on Friday that I’ve been appointed an Ambassador for the event, so I may be a little biased!  I was honoured to fill that role last year for DNA Down Under, and thrilled to be selected again.  (Ambassadors get a small discount for conference extras in return for highlighting the event.)

Family History Down Under conference, March 2021The conference program is still being finalised, but here’s the line-up of  keynote speakers:

I’ve heard these speakers present before (apart from David Rencher),  and I’m excited they will all be in one place next year!  And I’ve been told Rencher is a brilliant speaker on Irish records and research, so am looking forward to sitting in on his talks.

Early bird tickets are available up to August 2020, and if you’re worried about booking so far in advance, you can cancel with a full refund up to 30 days before the event.  Details on the venue and booking information are on the Family History Down Under website.

If you want to keep up with the latest news of the event and “meet” fellow attendees, join the Family History Down Under Facebook Group.

Maybe see you in Queensland!
