Mystery women revealed?

Following on from yesterday’s post, I decided to have a look through some family photos, to see if I could find any likenesses to the three women in the photo.

I feel fairly sure that the woman on the left, Mystery Woman number 1, is my great grandmother, Margaret O’Rourke.  Here’s a comparison between yesterday’s photo, and a close up from her 1909 wedding photo:

Margaret’s bridesmaid was her sister Brigid, who was two years older. I’m not so sure that these two are the same person:

have just seen these photos of my relatives -the O’Rourke women and the will of my grandfather or great grandfather, Bartholomew! As there are so many of them I would need dates to verify. Margaret was one of my grandfather’s sisters and Brigid is one I actually remember unless it is another one-they did tend to use the same names! Margaret was one of around 10 children and her brother Bartholomew also got married in 1909 in Napier!

Thanks so much for your comments, Trish – very excited to hear from an O’Rourke cousin. I’ll sort out my notes a bit and email you. Yes, they seemed to reuse many of the names… a bit tricky with all the Bartholomews and Brigids in the family 🙂
